There are so many options which Mallorca offers golf lovers that we are forced to divide into several blog entries the wide range of options regarding landscape, cultural, gastronomic and leisure offers that visitors have at their disposal when they settle on the island with the aim of playing golf while they complete their stay with other attractive activities.

While in our previous post we focused on addressing the most stimulating claims of the northern area (specifically, Alcanada, Alcúdia and Pollença), today we will present in detail the various golf courses in Andratx and the surrounding area, as well as the fabulous hotels with which such golf courses collaborate in order to round off the experience of golfers.

First of all, Golf d’Andratx stands out for its spectacular views of the Tramuntana mountain range and for its green 18-hole course, which is well known for being one of the best in the whole of the Mediterranean. In addition, the 6th hole is the longest in Spain, so few golfers do not want to play on it at least once in their lifetime. There are also 18 holes at T Golf & Country Club, located just twelve kilometres from the crystal clear waters of Playa de Palma. The beautiful views of the mountains also define the personality of this emblematic golf club, whose inauguration will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

When built it only featured 9 holes, but after its extension in 1995, the Real Golf de Bendinat had twice as many holes, which are perfectly defined by the trees and protected by the lakes and bunkers that populate the green, which is a fascinating challenge for golfers. Valley and mountain coexist in harmony on this course located just 20 minutes from the island’s capital.

The area of Santa Ponsa features two impressive golf courses very appreciated and consolidated among those who enjoy giving free rein to their passion for this sport on our island. Club Santa Ponsa 1  hosted the European PGA Tour six times, and stands out above all for its 10th hole, whose 590 metres of distance from the white bars makes it one of the longest in Europe. Without any doubt, this is one of the most popular golf courses on this island, and a wonderful option for those who are going to stay in this area during their holidays in Mallorca. Golf Santa Ponça 2, on the other hand, is for the exclusive use of shareholders, although it is common for different high-level competitions to be held there. As a curiosity it is worth mentioning its 18th hole: a par 3 with a green located on a portion of land that takes the shape of the island of Mallorca.

As for the incredible collaborating hotels that golfers have at their disposal, here you will find their names with the link to their website, so that you can take an in-depth look at the characteristics of each one of them. However, regardless of your final choice, we can guarantee that they all have in common quality, sophistication, unsurpassed facilities and sublime customer service in order to offer a perfect stay.

In addition to this extraordinary range of golf courses and hotels, the Andratx area features beaches and coves as magical as Cala Blanca, Cala Cranc, Cala de Egos, Cala en Fonoll, Cala Es Conills, Cala Llamp, Playa Sant Elm, Playa de ses Dones or Playa Camp de Mar. Likewise, and for those who prefer to spend their time with other leisure alternatives, Andratx features a weekly market held every Wednesday morning, except on public holidays. In this market, visitors will be able to buy and taste typical products, taste local sweets, buy fresh vegetables and fruit and stroll around the stands full of accessories and handcrafted objects: this is, in short, a good way to get to know other aspects of Mallorcan culture and tradition.

We hope that this post will serve to give you a sufficiently complete overview of the fabulous and unbeatable attractions of the south-western part of the island. Furthermore, at Mallorca Golf Island we can provide other interesting information and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
