As already done in the previous posts of this blog, in today’s post we will talk about four spectacular golf courses located near the Mallorcan capital, both in nearby villages, such as Bunyola, and in residential areas near the Bay of Palma, such as Son Vida.

The most curious thing about the golf courses which we propose today is the fact that among them are the oldest and newest of the courses which populate the Mallorcan territory. Thus, while the prestigious Arabella Golf Son Vida features decades of history and recognition, hosting championships (it was inaugurated in 1964), the Arabella Golf Son Quint is only 11 years old and was inaugurated in 2007.

The Arabella Golf Son Vida has been able to make the most of its 54 years of existence, becoming a true golf legend among players throughout Europe over the last half century. Its characteristics make it an ideal choice for both advanced players and beginners who only just start discovering their vocation for golf.

On the other hand, we cannot fail to mention two important events which took place at the Arabella Golf Son Vida: the Balearic Open in 1990, in which Seve Ballesteros won the play-off, and the one in 1994, in which the golfer Barry Lane was the winner.

If we continue to respect the order of age, the next golf course to be presented is Golf Son Termens, created in 1998. This alternative proves especially suitable for nature lovers and lovers of almost virgin landscapes, hardly populated by modern buildings and constructions.

Without a doubt, Golf Son Termens, located in the municipality of Bunyola, is the golf club best integrated in the natural environment of the island: the trees and vegetation are very present in the surroundings, while the only building you can see on the land is the one housing the golf club. Golfers who are passionate about the green, fresh and unspoilt beauty of the Mallorcan countryside will undoubtedly find their most beloved refuge at Golf Son Termens.

Next, we’ll take you to the Arabella Golf Son Muntaner, which opened in 2000. Its extensive course allows for a wide variety of strokes, which is an interesting challenge for players who want to try everything. In addition, and as a curiosity, on the 15th hole you will find the oldest millenary olive tree in Mallorca, baptised ‘Na Capitana’ and classified a natural monument by the local government.

Finally, we arrive at the youngest golf course on our island: the Arabella Golf Son Quint. This wonderful space allows both veteran players and beginners to enjoy a risky and exciting game, always accompanying their experience with breath-taking views of the Bay of Palma; from tee 8, you can even appreciate the magnificent structure of Palma’s cathedral, a must for lovers of culture visiting the island.

The recent creation of this golf course becomes evident in its comfortable, agile and modern design, surrounded by a green and natural environment providing a very Mallorcan and Mediterranean feel.
