Mallorca, December 16, 2025.

The Association of Golf Courses of Mallorca (ACGM), internationally known under the brand Mallorca Golf Island, has held its annual General Assembly today, a key meeting to review the actions carried out throughout 2025 and to outline the main strategic lines and projects planned for 2026.
The event brought together directors of all golf courses on the island, as well as associated hotels and tourism industry professionals, consolidating the assembly as a forum for reflection and strategic planning on the future of golf in Mallorca. The opening of the assembly was led by ACGM President Dirk Dünkler, who welcomed attendees and highlighted the importance of collaboration between golf courses, accommodation providers and strategic partners to strengthen the island’s positioning as a leading golf destination in Europe.
During the assembly, it was emphasized that 2025 has been a decisive year for ACGM, marked by the strengthening of Mallorca’s international projection as a golf destination, recognized for the quality, diversity and excellence of its offer. Throughout the year, the association has promoted joint initiatives integrating golf and hospitality, with the aim of consolidating a strong and coherent brand at a global level.
In this context, key data and estimates were analyzed, confirming the high value of golf for the destination Mallorca. Golf is estimated to continue attracting more than 200,000 tourists annually to the Balearic Islands, generating an economic impact estimated at around €850–900 million, thanks to a visitor profile with higher purchasing power, longer stays and strong consumption of complementary services. This type of tourist plays a fundamental role in reducing seasonality, with travel concentrated mainly in spring and autumn.
Estimates regarding the golf tourist profile were also shared, showing a predominantly male audience aged between 35 and 54, a mature and stable segment particularly receptive to high-quality content and experiences. From a geographical perspective, a solid base is confirmed in traditional markets such as Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom, alongside growing interest from strategic markets including the United States and Switzerland, opening new opportunities for enhanced segmentation and tailored promotional actions.
The assembly also served as a space for in-depth analysis, where results were reviewed, processes adjusted and the association’s strategic vision reinforced to continue positioning Mallorca as a solid, competitive and sustainable golf destination in the medium and long term.
The event was attended by Bartolomé Tous, President of the Balearic Golf Federation, who shared his vision for the present and future of golf in the Balearic Islands. His mandate focuses on expanding golf schools, increasing federation licenses and promoting the development of a public golf course to facilitate access to the sport, as well as strengthening initiatives such as the Road to Mallorca circuit with the aim of consolidating it as an annual benchmark.
The day included several specialized presentations, including an intervention by Lee Mathew, General Manager of 59club Europe South, who addressed the importance of service excellence under the concept “Experience is the new currency” as a key element for Mallorca to lead European golf. Javier Pérez-Ximénez, Director of Galpe Insurance Agency, analyzed modern risk management in golf courses and hotels, while Dídac Pérez, Digital Transformation Specialist at Confialia, presented the real opportunities that artificial intelligence offers to the golf industry looking ahead to 2026.
The ACGM also underlined its commitment to a 365-day active tourism model, contributing to reduced seasonality and the continuous generation of economic and social value. All actions carried out maintain a clear focus on responsible tourism, the adoption of environmentally respectful practices, and the ongoing professional development of the sector’s workforce to ensure the highest quality standards.
The assembly concluded with a review of the strategic projects planned for 2026, including the implementation of an integrated booking system, the strengthening of the international strategy, new sustainability campaigns under the slogan “Play Green, Choose Mallorca”, and the development of new strategic partnerships. The event closed with an open discussion session followed by a closing cocktail, reaffirming ACGM’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and the sustainable growth of golf in Mallorca.
